Hi My name is Kate and I have a dog named Zippy. She is half Chihuahua and half German Shepherd, so to say the least she has a split personality! Part of her sounds mean and tough like a
German shepherd but if something scares her bad like lightning she's under the bed!
I just wanted to leave this following message and say that I cherish my dog's unconditional love beyond words.
She is zany and silly and acts like a puppy all the time even though she is fully grown but if something is really bothering me or I am depressed, I could even be hiding that from other people, but you can't hide those emotions from an animal. She detects it somehow and mellows out and lays her head on me and wants to be petted (she doesn't really like being petted but she must understand that I need to do it to make me feel better) she somehow knows I need her comfort. So I think you are very true in saying that of course they have feelings and interactions about situations.
I love her and I spoil her, you just can't get that kind of affection anywhere else.
Rescuing her was the best thing I ever did. I suggest that people who are considering getting a dog for their family to go to the pounds first because there are so many unloved dogs there that would love to have a family to love.
Thanks for this sounding board.
